Many think that the color of deoxygenated blood is blue because of looking at anatomy models. However, this really needs to be cleared up in schools across the country. I grew up always thinking that blood in my veins was smurf blue! Come to find out, no blood is actually blue. Oxygenated blood is a very bright red color whereas deoxygenated blood is a deep crimson color which can be seen if one gives blood.
